We have come a long way Kraft Hockeyville but still work to be done! - A message from our President

I would like to first send out a heartfelt congratulations to our community as we are very excited to claim a Top 4 spot in Kraft Hockeyville!

One winner will be selected for the grand prize of $250,000 to be used towards arena upgrades and will have an opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. We of course, hope we can all come together to make sure we bring this home to our Sackville Arena!

By placing top 4 we have already guaranteed the Sackville Arena $25,000 for arena upgrades, and all top four communities will be given $10,000 in new hockey equipment, courtesy of NHLPA Goals & Dreams.

It is hard to believe that November 7th, 2023 was when I sent a communication to our membership that I would be creating a Kraft Hockeyville Committee and would be putting out a call later in the season for expressions of interest to join our Kraft Hockeyville Committee. It seems like yesterday.

On January 7th, 2024 I then put a call out to our membership for expression of interest to be on the Kraft Hockeyville committee I would be forming. The interest was exceptional and on Wednesday March the 27th I sent a welcome communication to those who would form our Kraft Hockeyville Committee for our bid that I would place on January 1st 2025 for our beloved Sackville Arena.

As the committee chair and President of our association I could not have asked for a better group of individuals to be on our committee. Each and every one of our committee members have all played a pivotal role in our success thus far in making it to the final 4 for the 2025 Kraft Hockeyville Crown! The time and dedication each of these individuals has put in has been well beyond expectations. What we see as a community is only a small part of all their combined efforts.

I want to take a moment to thank our committee members as the Chair of our committee on behalf of our community and our association from the bottom of my heart. Without your dedication and commitment to see this journey through, we simply would not be where we are today. You all deserve to be recognized for your contributions.

With heartfelt appreciation I want to acknowledge the following individuals for everything you have given each day over the past year for our bid.

Joining me on the committee:

Amber Davis
Allison Deveau
Andy Deveau
Chris Fraser
Kim Gray
Angela Pennell
Collen Richards
Sharlene Salter

As well to all the individuals who reached out with ideas or joined our open sessions, thank you so much! To all of you that joined us for our Rally Day and our events, thank you for supporting our bid!

To all of our rally sponsors, without your support this would not have been possible as well, our community thanks you for your very generous support! We will continue to promote your businesses rest assured.

We have come so far, let's all band together and on April 4th and April 5th bring the win home where it belongs! Sackville Is Hockeyville!

Let's rally around our Flyers family member, Judah Daley

ae011de4-750e-48a5-b079-b42a6a3ccd92

Dear members,

One of our own flyers families, the Daley's, are dealing with a very unexpected and unimaginable life changing event within their family. As an association we 100% will be here to support them as they navigate through this time in their lives.

One of our initiatives to show our support is a helmet decal campaign, where we stand in solidarity as an association for one of our own.

Judah's older brother Abel is in our U9 Advancing program and his sister Arizona in our U7 program. Brad has also been a coach within our association for many years as well.

Two-year-old Judah’s world changed overnight when he suddenly began having trouble walking. Concerned, his mother and father Danika and Brad took him to the IWK, where doctors ran blood tests. The diagnosis was one any parent ever wants to hear—Philadelphia Positive chromosomal B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+B-ALL). Judah began chemotherapy right away. He will remain in the hospital for the next few weeks as his care team closely monitors his response to treatment. The road ahead will be long, with doctors estimating that his treatment plan will span the next two years. However, the prognosis is hopeful, and Judah is facing this challenge with remarkable strength. While Judah is in the hospital, his mom, Danika, is staying by his side and unable to work for the time being. His dad, Brad, is doing everything he can to continue working and support the family. Judah also has two siblings at home who need care, but thankfully, their grandmother is stepping in to help during this challenging time. This journey will be difficult, but Judah has the unwavering love and support of his family, along with an incredible medical team fighting alongside him. He is a warrior, and with time, care, and treatment, he will triumph.

We are currently planning a day at the Arena in which we will be holding fundraising events to help support the family during this time. Please stay tuned for more on that! In the meantime, if you would like to donate to help support the family, please visit the Go Fund Me page.

We will be sending the Team staff a separate email with instructions for pick up times and decal helmet placement.

Let's all get behind Judah like Flyers always do!
