Due to the Power Outages from the storm, there have been several adjustments made to both Pre-Season and Tryout Schedules. Specifically, today's U13 AAA tryouts have been rescheduled to tomorrow morning, which has a trickle-down effect across several divisions. 

Please review the Pre-Season and Tryout Schedules for all divisions to ensure you're up-to-date with your player's ice times.

In case of further rescheduling, please continue to keep checking back on social media and our Sackville Flyers.

Hope everyone stays safe during the weather this weekend.

I would like to take a moment to welcome our new and current families back for another season of growth, friendships, development, memories, life lessons, and most importantly fun playing the greatest game on earth.

Wishing all our players entering tryouts the best of luck. Work hard, stay positive, pay attention, and have fun. Remember, it is a game.

I would also like to thank all our amazing volunteers behind the scenes that have been putting countless hours into preparations for this weekend’s start of our tryout process. Thank You!

**Update September 16 @ 1030**- The Stadium is closed for the day today.  All U11 Preseason camps and the U13AAA tryout scheduled for today are postponed.  The Executive and admin teams are working hard to adjust and update as efficiently as possible.  Please continue to watch the tryout page and social media for updates.

**Update September 14 @ 0930**- a decision will be made and posted at 6pm today regarding sessions for tomorrow (Saturday) morning.  We will assess tomorrow and make a decision for the U13AAA tryout session scheduled for tomorrow night by 12:00 pm tomorrow.  Please continue to watch the website and social media**

SMHA will continue to assess the situation this weekend with Hurricane Lee on the horizon.  We will be closely monitoring make a decision on Saturday based on the conditions at that time for the U13AAA tryouts as well as other ongoing preseason camps.

Should we need to postpone these events this weekend, rescheduling the U13AAA tryout session(s) will be a priority and preseason camps will be adjusted accordingly.

As the hockey season approaches, we're thrilled to invite you to our "Welcome to Hockey" event for families in the Sackville Flyers Minor Hockey Association U5/U7 program. This event is a fantastic opportunity for both new and returning families to get prepared and excited for the upcoming season.

Event Details:
Date: Sunday, September 17th
Time: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Location: Sackville Arena Mezzanine

Here's what we have planned for the evening:

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Meet and Greet

Join us for coffee and Timbits as we get to know each other better.
Kids are encouraged to bring their mini sticks, helmets, and gloves to enjoy some mini stick fun!
5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Presentation and Q&A

Learn about what to expect for the upcoming season.
Get valuable insights on putting on the gear and a breakdown of the season's activities.
Ask any questions you may have during the Q&A session.
6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Arena Walkthrough

We'll take a tour of the arena, so everyone can get familiar with the exciting rink where our young athletes will be playing.
We understand that starting a new season can be both exciting and nerve-wracking, especially for those new to the program. This event is designed to ease any concerns and ensure everyone feels confident and prepared for the journey ahead.

U13AAA Tryout Update

REMINDER!!!!  If a player decides to tryout for a different position than which they are currently registered for notice must be given to SMHA by 48 hours prior to the first session start time  (Notice must be given by Thursday, September 14th at 7 pm).  Please notify of any position change to both registrar@flyershockey.ca and vpcompetitive@flyershockey.ca

Thank you to our in-house presenters including Craig Foley (VP Risk Management), Morgan Spicer (U11 Division Coordinator), Rod Sturge (Vice President), Matt Brown (VP U5 & U7), and especially to our Guest Speakers including Brad Taylor, the Technical Director of Hockey Nova Scotia and Jason Hale, our Halifax East Zone Regional Director with Hockey Nova Scotia.
